Spring Wine Festival Blows Doors Wide Open:
Mt. Boucherie's Annual Open House was a Smashing Success...

From May 2 - 5, the Okanagan was buzzing with the sights and sounds of the 2002 Okanagan Spring Wine Festival. From gala dining to expert judging, art displays and music, the festival proved once again to be a grand success.

This year, Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery was proud to host its 2nd Annual Spring Wine Festival Open House, opening its cellar doors to the crowds. The event featured complimentary wine tasting, tours and the long awaited debut of the latest releases. Among the new releases featured at the afternoon event were the 2000 Merlot, a berry-rich, medium-bodied red, and the 2000 Gewürztraminer, which was honored with a Silver Medal at the festival's Consumer Tasting held the previous night.

Tours of the winery facility were conducted by Winemaster Alan Marks, who urged guests to bring a glass and participate in the rare experience of barrel tasting. In the upcoming months, the winery plans to release its long-awaited 2001 Pinot Noir Icewine, 2000 Aria and the much anticipated 2000 Summit Series.

Guests at the Open House were also treated to home-made samosas, which proved to be the highlight of the day, especially when paired with samples of Gewürztraminer.

Thanks to all who participated in the event and helped make the Okanagan Spring Wine Festival a smashing success...

Wine and Hot Rods:
Mt. Boucherie Hosts the 2002 Blossom Run Sunday Barbecue...

The tranquil vineyards and serene views from Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery’s Westside location became a playground for car buffs this May long weekend as the winery was invaded by more than 250 Hot Rods. Classic cars from the 2002 Blossom Run in Summerland made their way to the winery as part of the 3-day event’s Sunday Cruise. With more than 600 participants from BC, Alberta, Ontario, Washington, Oregon and Idaho joining in for the drive to Kelowna, the winery came alive with the sounds of Barbecues and big engines. Event committee chairperson Klaus Schirerbeck organized the winery visit and called the event a “great success”. Mt. Boucherie’s Wineshoppe Manager Pinky Gidda was pleased to welcome the enthusiastic group, who were invited to sample wines and enjoy the new picnic area now open on the winery’s grounds.
